Home Ed group: April – May

This is our weekly outdoor Home Ed group which runs every Wednesday afternoon from 12:30 to 2:15pm. This is a 6 week block of sessions running from the 19th April to the 24th May. Pay-as-you-go sessions are also available.

The group is primarily aimed at school age children – from 5 to 12 years old – but it is very flexible and younger or older siblings are welcome to attend. We will provide a range of levels of activities and have lots of resources at site that work well for all ages (mud kitchen, rope swing, den-building etc.). The Forest school ethos is child-led so whilst we will always provide some themed activities we do stress that these aren’t compulsory. We try to notice and respond to children’s interests so themes may be adapted or changed.

We always have a campfire in the final week and try to incorporate plenty of tool work and craft projects within each theme.

Snack will be provided (hot drinks for adults plus fruit/biscuits and squash or water for children).

Each session will start with a safety talk and introductions around the fire circle, an explanation of the activities and then children and families can free-flow around the site. Adults are expected to attend and join in with the activities.

Plenty of shelter, a car park and a composting toilet is available. When you book on you will be emailed directions and joining instructions. If you haven’t received an info email 2 days before the session please get in touch. Thank you.
